Multi-View Merging for Robot Teleoperation With Virtual Reality

In robotic teleoperation, an operator usually needs to be trained for long hours. One of the factors leading this steep learning curve is quality telepresence. This letter proposes a novel and user-friendly telepresence interface manipulation. Visual information from different views merged presented in intuitive way facilitate task based on state-of-the-art virtual reality technology. Besides rendering scene, robot also rendered immersive view so that visible even when it occluded. We performed series user studies evaluate interface. The results show proposed can achieve better performance compared standard approach both manipulation efficiency users' preferences.
